Position Details



Job Title: Assembler

Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (4-Month Assignment)

Location: El Segundo, CA

Pay Rate Starting at : $30.19 per hour



Shift Options:




  • First Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Second Shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM




About the Role



As an Assembler, you'll play a critical role in the production of complex spacecraft components, structural assemblies, and mechanical systems. Working alongside engineering and manufacturing teams, you'll help ensure aerospace products are built to exact specifications and the highest quality standards.



Your expertise in assembly, blueprint interpretation, precision measurements, and mechanical troubleshooting will directly support programs that push the boundaries of aerospace innovation.





What You'll Do



In this hands-on role, you'll:




  • Assemble, install, test, inspect, and verify complex mechanical and spacecraft assemblies
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and assembly procedures
  • Perform production assembly operations on structural parts, subassemblies, aircraft systems, and related equipment
  • Conduct visual inspections and second-party verifications to ensure quality and compliance
  • Use precision measuring equipment including:

    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Dial indicators
    • Torque wrenches


  • Operate machine shop equipment such as:

    • Drill presses
    • Grinders
    • Chop saws
    • Hand and power tools


  • Work with materials including composites, adhesives, epoxies, plastics, laminates, fabrics, and honeycomb core structures
  • Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, cranes, aerial lifts, and transportation equipment
  • Troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble mechanical systems as needed
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Materials, Quality, and Shipping teams
  • Support integration and testing activities for spacecraft systems and support equipment
  • Mentor and cross-train new team members




Required Qualifications




  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:

    • Structures Assembly
    • Mechanical Assembly
    • Electrical Assembly
    • Final Assembly


  • 3+ years of experience following written and verbal work instructions
  • 3+ years of experience interpreting:

    • Blueprints
    • Specifications
    • Assembly drawings
    • Standard operating procedures


  • 3+ years of experience using precision measuring tools such as:

    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Dial indicators


  • 3+ years of experience working with materials such as:

    • Adhesives
    • Composites
    • Epoxy
    • Plastics
    • Honeycomb Core
    • Resins
    • Fabrics


  • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday
  • Ability to frequently lift 20 pounds or more
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship




Preferred Qualifications




  • 3+ years of experience using:

    • Torque wrenches
    • Sheet metal brakes and shears
    • Test equipment
    • Advanced assembly hand tools


  • 3+ years of proficiency with:

    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft PowerPoint


  • 3+ years of experience working in a Class 100,000 clean room environment
  • 5+ years of experience building space-flight hardware and component-level space products, including:

    • Avionics boxes
    • Batteries
    • Mechanisms
    • Optics
    • Printed circuit board assemblies
    • Solar arrays


  • 5+ years of mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and rework experience
  • Vocational training, Associate degree, or additional technical education is a plus

Pay Details: $30.19 per hour
