Project Engineer
Location: Savannah, GA 31418 | On-Site
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM | 40-50 Hours per Week
Pay Rate: $50.00-$60.00 per Hour
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Project Engineer III to support a leading manufacturing facility in Savannah, Georgia. As a Project Engineer III, you will:
Lead and execute capital projects including facility modifications, process improvements, and new equipment installations.
Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Develop detailed engineering scopes, cost estimates, and capital expenditure justifications.
Coordinate project activities with production, maintenance, contractors, vendors, and engineering teams.
Provide technical leadership for design, engineering, commissioning, startup, and system optimization activities.
Analyze equipment and manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Troubleshoot complex operational and maintenance issues while driving sustainable solutions.
Support new product and system development initiatives.
Establish and maintain engineering standards related to project execution, equipment reliability, safety, and cost control.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and corporate safety standards.
Promote a strong safety culture and support best practices across plant operations.
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
Proven experience managing capital projects from planning through implementation.
Strong project management skills with the ability to balance scope, budget, schedule, and operational constraints.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering initiatives and coordinating internal and external resources.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment systems, and plant operations.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with computer applications and Google Workspace (G Suite).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Manufacturing experience within building products, roofing, industrial production, or similar environments.
CAD design and drafting experience, preferably with Autodesk products.
Experience working in OEM, consulting engineering, or integrated design environments.
Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies such as Kepner-Tregoe.
Exposure to Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Process Safety Management (PSM) programs.
Experience supporting continuous production equipment and process systems.
