Join a Safety?Focused Field Service Team with PDS Tech

PDS Tech has immediate openings for Field Service Technicians supporting a major utility project replacing aged residential gas meters. This is a productivity?based field role involving meter removal, installation, safety checks, customer communication, and documentation using company?provided equipment and technology.

Technicians will be based and trained in the Nashville area, with an expected project duration of 2+ years. All Operator Qualification (OQ) training and certifications are provided.

Key Responsibilities

Gas Meter Installation & Service

• Read and remove existing residential gas meters
  
• Install new gas meters and replace regulators when needed
  
• Build meter loops and perform final meter tests
  
• Conduct gas leak testing using a combustible gas indicator
  
• Repair minor gas leaks
  
• Shut down and safely relight customer gas appliances
  

Field Documentation & Customer Interaction

• Collect and enter installation data using a provided handheld device
  
• Identify hazardous or abnormal operating conditions
  
• Interact professionally with utility customers
  

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain high standards of safety and workmanship
  
• Follow all DOT PHMSA requirements
  
• Comply with all federal, state, and local driving regulations
  

Primary Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
  
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  
• Must pass:
  
  
  
  • Pre?employment MVR check
    
  • Ongoing MVR checks every 6 months
    
  • Background check
    
  • DOT PHMSA?compliant drug screen
    
  • Pre?employment assessments
    
  
  
  
• Ability to work outdoors up to 10+ hours/day in all weather conditions
  
• Ability to walk, climb, stoop, and perform physical labor
  
• Ability to use hand tools requiring up to 30 lbs of upper?body force
  
• Strong communication skills
  
• Ability to work independently and meet daily installation goals
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience in Natural Gas Field Service Operations
  
• Gas meter installation or repair experience
  
• Comfort with handheld devices, computers, and basic software
