Maintenance Technician 3rd shift
Location: Aurora, IL (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM
Compensation: $33-$40/hour + $3.00/hour shift differential
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join a leading global nutrition manufacturer committed to improving health and wellness through science-based nutritional products.
This position is ideal for a skilled maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex equipment, minimizing downtime, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. As a key member of the maintenance team, you will help ensure manufacturing equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably in a fast-paced production environment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems.
Serve as the first responder for equipment downtime and production-related maintenance issues.
Complete and document maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance activities within the CMMS system.
Partner with production teams to support equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Conduct inspections and identify opportunities for preventive and corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
Assist in training and mentoring maintenance team members and equipment operators.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations, GMP requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
Blenders and scales
Bottle rinsers, fillers, cappers, and labelers
Check weighers
Case erectors and sealers
Palletizers and stretch wrappers
AC/DC motors and drives
Packaging and processing equipment
High School Diploma, GED, vocational diploma, or equivalent
Minimum of 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing manufacturing equipment
Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic maintenance skills
Experience using electrical testing equipment, including voltmeters, ammeters, ohm meters, and meggers
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic diagrams
Working knowledge of:
Lockout/Tagout procedures
Arc Flash and PPE requirements
Three-phase industrial wiring and power distribution
Electrical formulas and mechanical calculations
AC/DC drives and motor troubleshooting
PLC I/O troubleshooting and industrial networking
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Ability to prioritize work in a dynamic manufacturing environment
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Must supply personal hand tools
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical maintenance activities throughout the shift
Ability to read and write in English
Technical training in electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems
Basic PLC and drive programming/training
Knowledge of NEC standards
Familiarity with UL508A and NFPA 79
Experience using SAP or other CMMS platforms
Food manufacturing, packaging, or processing experience
Knowledge of GMP and HACCP requirements
Experience with dry powder filling equipment
Motion control experience, including servo motors and drives
Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) certification or experience
Spanish language skills
