As a Transportation Coordinator, you'll play a key role in supporting manufacturing operations by overseeing shipping activities, coordinating shipping schedules, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring finished products are prepared and loaded for delivery. Your commitment to safety, efficiency, and teamwork will help keep the supply chain moving and customers satisfied.
What You'll Do
As a Transportation Coordinator, you will:
Coordinate daily transportation and shipping activities, including scheduling full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), rail, and container shipments.
Support dock operations, material handling, inventory control, and shipping management to ensure efficient product movement.
Operate overhead cranes, hoists, and assist with Mi-Jack crane operations to safely load finished goods onto flatbed trailers.
Tarp, seal, and package finished products to protect them during transportation.
Scan finished goods using RF scanners and tablets to maintain accurate inventory records.
Operate forklifts to transport materials and finished goods throughout the stockyard.
Verify finished goods using pick lists and yard reports prior to shipment.
Work proactively to keep shipping schedules on track while minimizing truck detention and delays.
Identify opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, and workflow within shipping operations.
Maintain clean, organized work areas while supporting 5S initiatives and workplace safety standards.
Cross-train on multiple shipping functions to provide operational flexibility and support.
Communicate effectively with shipping leadership, production teams, shipping companies, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in transportation, shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or manufacturing.
Experience coordinating shipments and supporting transportation operations in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to operate or learn to operate forklifts, overhead cranes, hoists, and related material handling equipment.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities.
Experience using RF scanners or inventory tracking systems.
Ability to accurately verify shipping documentation, pick lists, and inventory records.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a customer-focused mindset.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed to support production schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in HVAC, industrial manufacturing, or heavy equipment production environments.
Knowledge of transportation scheduling, shipping management, and freight operations, including FTL, LTL, rail, and container shipments.
Previous experience supporting inventory control and warehouse management processes.
Familiarity with 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience operating Mi-Jack cranes, overhead cranes, or similar lifting equipment.
