CNC Machinist

In this role, you'll produce precision-machined components to exact specifications while contributing to products used in demanding industries where accuracy and reliability matter most.
As a CNC Machinist, you'll independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC equipment to manufacture complex parts while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining centers, multi-spindle drilling machines, mills, press brakes, and related equipment.
Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Edit and optimize existing CNC programs and assist with programming new parts.
Select tooling, monitor machine performance, and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances.
Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring equipment, including calipers, gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and vision inspection systems.
Detect machining issues, troubleshoot equipment, and implement corrective actions.
Support tooling and fixture design to improve manufacturing efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve technical challenges.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following ISO, AS9100, Nadcap, and other quality standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support cross-training when needed.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with trade school training in machine shop practices.
At least 3 years of CNC machining experience using vertical machining centers and precision inspection equipment.
Experience performing complete machine setup, program editing, operation, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proficiency using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in electronics, aerospace, medical device, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, Nadcap, or NASA manufacturing standards.
Experience developing tooling or fixtures and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Previous experience training or mentoring other machinists.
