Location: Maple Grove, MN | Schedule: 1st Shift 6am – 2:30pm | Payrate: $23/hour, up to $25/hr with current certifications 

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the Electronics Manufacturing industry to hire a skilled Surface Mount Technology Setup Operator. About the Role

This position focuses on surface mount technology (SMT) operations, equipment setup, and quality assurance, including:

• Setting up SMT equipment, solder paste stencils and verifying correct application

• Loading, verifying, and replenishing components in SMT pick-and-place machines

• Following engineering documentation to ensure Class III solder joint quality

• Performing preventive maintenance and minor equipment adjustments

• Inspecting components and solder joints using microscope and X-ray equipment

• Maintaining inventory control, ESD practices, and a FOD-free work environment

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Hands-on experience with SMT equipment setup and operation

• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and blueprints

• J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certification (or ability to obtain)

• Microscope soldering capability and strong fine-motor skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience programming SMT equipment

• Familiarity with AS9100 / ISO quality systems
