Forklift Operator
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading Chemical and Ingredients Distribution company to find a safety-focused, detail-oriented Forklift Operator who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment. If you're experienced in material handling, forklift operations, and warehouse activities, this is your opportunity to play a critical role in keeping products moving safely and efficiently throughout the supply chain.
As a Forklift Operator, you'll be responsible for moving, storing, loading, and receiving products throughout the warehouse and shipping areas. Your attention to safety, inventory accuracy, and product quality will help ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries while maintaining the highest food safety and warehouse standards.
Location: Reading, PA | Pay Rate: $20/hr | Schedule: Monday - Friday 10am to 6pm (Hours could increase/decrease based on need)
Safely operate forklifts and other Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Move palletized products throughout the warehouse, trailers, and rail cars.
Load and unload trucks and rail cars safely and efficiently.
Receive and inspect incoming products, ensuring proper tagging and storage.
Replenish inventory and stock locations following First Expired, First Out (FEFO) guidelines.
Pick and stage orders accurately and in the proper rotation.
Re-palletize products as needed.
Ensure trailers are loaded correctly with proper weight distribution and no product damage.
Verify trucks and rail cars are properly chocked before loading or unloading.
Maintain warehouse cleanliness and support sanitation and food safety initiatives.
Assist with warehouse picking, rail receiving, cleaning activities, and other operational tasks.
Maintain required equipment certifications and follow all safety procedures.
Complete cleaning schedules and required documentation.
Support additional warehouse duties as assigned by leadership.
Ability to safely operate forklifts and other MHE equipment.
Ability to maintain productivity and accuracy standards.
Ability to follow FEFO inventory practices and accurately enter lot information.
Ability to lift up to 100 pounds to shoulder height on occasion.
Ability to work in temperatures as low as -10°F.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Strong work history and reliable attendance.
Ability to learn shipping, receiving, and inventory system tasks within 30 days.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment with minimal training.
Previous forklift, warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience.
Experience loading and unloading trailers and rail cars.
Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management practices.
Experience working in food-grade, chemical, or industrial distribution environments.
Current forklift or MHE certifications.
