About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer II, you'll research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve cutting-edge aerospace products and systems. Working within multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll help deliver innovative solutions across a diverse portfolio that includes advanced aircraft, electronic systems, mission payloads, and space exploration technologies.
This role offers the opportunity to influence the entire product lifecycle, from concept and design through manufacturing, testing, and deployment.
What You'll Do
As a key member of the engineering team, you will:
Design and develop complex mechanical structures, components, and systems
Support new product development activities from concept through production
Apply engineering principles and best practices to solve technical challenges
Utilize Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools to support design and analysis efforts
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, manufacturing, quality, and program engineering
Participate in product validation, testing, certification, and continuous improvement initiatives
Develop innovative mechanical solutions that meet performance, quality, and reliability requirements
Support engineering documentation and technical reporting throughout the product lifecycle
Contribute to design reviews and technical evaluations
Assist in optimizing manufacturing and production processes through sound engineering practices
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in:
Mechanical Engineering, or
Related Engineering Discipline
Typically 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
Required Skills & Experience
Practical knowledge of engineering principles and practices
Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools
Experience working within multidisciplinary design and development teams
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical disciplines
Fluent in English (reading, writing, and speaking)
Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate will also have experience with:
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5
Engineering simulation and analysis including:
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD)
Thermal Analysis
Aerospace and Defense industry experience
Knowledge of industry-standard mechanical design principles, including:
Parametric Design
Model-Based Definition (MBD)
Material and Hardware Selection
Manufacturing Processes
Production Processes
Experience supporting complex aerospace product development programs

Pay Details: $44.82 per hour
