We're seeking an experienced Aircraft Inspector to support a leader in the aerospace industry. In this critical role, you'll ensure aircraft, avionics systems, structural modifications, and repairs meet the highest standards of airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and quality. Your expertise will play a direct role in delivering safe, mission-ready aircraft that customers can trust. 

Your Impact 

As an Aircraft Inspector, you'll serve as a trusted quality authority with inspection responsibilities that include in-process inspections, final inspections of minor work (non-337), and approval for return to service of qualifying repairs. Working alongside engineering, maintenance, and production teams, you'll help maintain the highest standards of safety while supporting innovative aerospace programs. 

What You'll Do 

Inspection & Quality Assurance 

• Perform detailed inspections of structural modifications, repairs, installations, and adjustments in accordance with approved engineering drawings and technical data. 

• Inspect avionics manufacturing, installation, integration, testing, wiring, and associated aircraft systems. 

• Verify aircraft, systems, equipment, and components comply with FAA regulations, OEM specifications, FAA Part 145 requirements, and company quality standards. 

• Identify discrepancies, non-conformances, and airworthiness issues while ensuring corrective actions are completed. 

• Exercise inspection authority for in-process inspections, final inspections of minor work (non-337), and approvals for return to service within authorized scope. 

Documentation & Regulatory Compliance 

• Review work orders, maintenance records, logbooks, engineering documentation, and inspection records for completeness and accuracy. 

• Complete inspection checklists, non-conformance reports, and required quality documentation. 

• Ensure all maintenance and inspection activities are documented in accordance with FAA regulations and company procedures. 

Collaboration & Technical Leadership 

• Partner with maintenance technicians, engineers, and production teams to resolve technical discrepancies and ensure project success. 

• Participate in pre- and post-inspection briefings while providing technical recommendations and quality guidance. 

• Support internal and external quality audits and regulatory compliance initiatives. 

Continuous Improvement 

• Recommend process improvements that enhance inspection quality, efficiency, and compliance. 

• Assist in developing inspection procedures, quality checklists, and training materials. 

• Support root cause investigations and corrective action activities to improve overall product quality. 

What We're Looking For 

Required Qualifications 

• High School Diploma or GED required. An Associate degree or higher in Aviation Maintenance or a related field is preferred. 

• FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required. 

• Typically five (5) or more years of aircraft maintenance, repair, and inspection experience. A higher-level degree may substitute for experience, and related experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 

• Strong knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, equipment, parts, and avionics integration. 

• Experience inspecting structural modifications, repairs, and aircraft maintenance activities. 

• Proficiency interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, technical manuals, and specifications. 

• Strong understanding of FAA regulations, FAA Part 145 Repair Station operations, and aviation inspection procedures. 

• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills. 

• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Manufacturing Execution Software. 

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• FAA Inspection Authorization (IA). 

• Avionics certification such as NCATT or FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License. 

• Experience in an FAA Part 145 Repair Station or aerospace manufacturing environment. 

• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). 

• Familiarity with IPC-WHMA-A-620 and other aerospace quality standards. 

• Experience creating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in accordance with AS9102. 

• Experience with FAA PMA and Conformity Inspections. 

• Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9000 quality management systems. 

• Experience supporting DCMA requirements and 8210.1D compliance. 

• Background in the aerospace, defense, U.S. Department of Defense, or military aviation environments. 

Work Environment 

This is a safety-sensitive position requiring a commitment to quality and operational excellence. Responsibilities may include: 

• Frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and repetitive hand movements. 

• Frequent exposure to loud noise, outdoor weather conditions, fumes, and hazardous materials. 

• Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds. 

• Strong visual acuity, color differentiation, depth perception, and hearing capabilities. 

• Working around aircraft, specialized equipment, hazardous materials, and other regulated environments.
