Senior Advanced Mechanical Engineer

Pay Rate: $68.75/hr
PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Sr Advanced Mechanical Engineer to support Aerospace's Engine & Power Systems organization. In this highly specialized role, you'll serve as a technical authority reviewing aerospace engineering drawings, validating model-based definitions, and ensuring compliance with ASME standards and design intent.
This position is ideal for a seasoned mechanical design engineer with deep expertise in ASME Y14.5 GD&T, engineering drawing interpretation, and aerospace component design.
Validate aerospace engineering drawings, models, and related design documentation.
Review designs for proper application of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
Ensure engineering drawings are fully defined and support manufacturing, inspection, and product performance requirements.
Evaluate model-based definitions and compliance with company design standards.
Verify design intent and identify drawing/model discrepancies.
Assess manufacturability, producibility, and cost impacts of designs.
Support product development and production engineering activities.
Collaborate across engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.
Mentor and coach less experienced engineers.
Support the growth of the technical validation organization within Engine & Power Systems.
10+ years of mechanical design engineering experience
Extensive expertise in:
Engineering drawing interpretation
Engineering drawing reviews
ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Mechanical design practices
Ability to identify incomplete or incorrect engineering definitions and provide solutions.
Experience with gas turbine engine components
Strong understanding of:
Model-Based Definition (MBD)
Aerospace drawing standards
Legacy drawings and specifications
Detailed design activities
Experience serving as a technical reviewer or validator
Leadership, mentoring, and coaching experience
Ability to influence and collaborate across engineering teams
Experience coordinating technical activities and leading small teams
Expert-level GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5)
Strong engineering drawing review and validation experience
Aerospace component design background
Ability to identify manufacturability and inspection concerns
Excellent communication and mentoring skills
Self-motivated and capable of working independently
Strong decision-making and technical problem-solving abilities
$68.75/hr pay rate
