Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Shift: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM

As a Systems Engineer, you'll contribute to the design, development, and verification of advanced RF and digital satellite communication systems. Working alongside industry-leading engineers, technologists, and customers, you'll help develop innovative solutions that support critical communications, intelligence, and defense missions.

From concept development and trade studies to integration, testing, and in-orbit operations, your expertise will help bring next-generation space systems to life.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop next-generation RF and digital satellite communication systems.
  
• Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing algorithms.
  
• Perform performance analysis of signal processing models and communication systems.
  
• Develop, characterize, and optimize communication waveforms.
  
• Conduct system trade studies and technical evaluations.
  
• Support payload, subsystem, and spacecraft integration and testing activities.
  
• Participate in system development from concept through deployment and operational support.
  
• Support HDL-level design and verification activities.
  
• Define, allocate, and verify system requirements.
  
• Perform detailed system architecture and verification activities.
  
• Collaborate with customers, suppliers, program managers, test engineers, and technical leaders.
  
• Lead engineering teams and technical initiatives.
  
• Support Internal Research & Development (IR&D) efforts focused on emerging technologies and innovation.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in:

• Experience with Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and Digital Communications algorithms, including:
  
  
  
  • Equalization
    
  • Turbo/Viterbi coding and decoding
    
  • Channel estimation
    
  • Filter design
    
  • Resampling theory
    
  
  
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink.
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience in digital communications and signal processing theory.
  
• Minimum 3 years of systems engineering experience, including:

  • Requirements allocation
    
  • Verification
    
  • Architecture development
    
  • Trade studies
    
  
  
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience working with FPGAs and/or ASICs.
  
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
