About the Role
As a Product Data Management Engineer, you'll help manage and control the engineering data, product structures, configuration baselines, and change processes that support one of the industry's most complex aircraft programs. Your expertise will ensure that product designs, engineering changes, and configuration requirements are properly documented, tracked, and implemented throughout the product lifecycle.
This role is ideal for professionals who excel at organization, process management, technical coordination, and cross-functional collaboration.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop, analyze, manage, and verify product and process baselines.
Support configuration management efforts across complex aerospace systems and engineering programs.
Define, plan, coordinate, and facilitate technical design reviews and audits.
Analyze engineering changes and develop technically complete change proposals.
Develop and maintain configuration and data management standards, processes, and tools.
Allocate and manage configuration requirements for hardware, software, and engineering design data throughout the product lifecycle.
Coordinate product structure integration and resolve engineering configuration issues.
Create and maintain Configuration Status Accounting (CSA) records and reports.
Support change and variance management processes.
Track and manage Action Change Notices (ACNs) and related configuration activities.
Develop engineering program plans that address impacts, risks, lessons learned, and implementation strategies.
Provide guidance on military configuration management requirements and best practices.
Support engineering teams in establishing organized drawing structures and modification documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
Typically 5+ years of related engineering, configuration management, or product data management experience
Experience with Configuration Management principles and processes
Knowledge of military configuration management requirements
Experience with EIA-649-1 standards
Experience processing engineering changes and variances
Experience creating and maintaining Configuration Status Accounting (CSA)
Experience managing and tracking ACNs
Strong planning, organization, and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Ability to provide structure and direction to complex technical activities
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace, aviation, or defense industry experience
Experience supporting aircraft modification or modernization programs
Familiarity with engineering product structures and design data systems
Experience supporting technical reviews, audits, and compliance activities
Knowledge of configuration management tools and engineering databases
Experience working in highly regulated engineering environments
Master's degree or advanced technical education in a related discipline
ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred, though not required
