About the Role



As a Systems Engineer, you will be part of a team supporting a critical aircraft modernization initiative involving the integration of next-generation engine technology into an established aircraft platform. Acting as a key member of the Aircraft Integration Office (AIO), you'll help identify challenges, coordinate solutions, and drive technical alignment across engineering teams.



You'll serve as a cross-functional problem solver, helping ensure technical requirements, system interfaces, and integration efforts remain aligned throughout the program lifecycle.



Position: Systems Engineer

Location: Oklahoma City, OK

Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (12 Months)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (9/80 Schedule)

Pay Rate: Starting at $58.11 per hour





What You'll Do




  • Apply systems engineering principles throughout the product lifecycle
  • Analyze operational and customer requirements to define system performance objectives
  • Coordinate technical activities across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Develop plans to address complex technical issues and integration challenges
  • Support requirements management, risk management, and technology readiness assessments
  • Evaluate system architectures and recommend improvements to optimize performance
  • Ensure compatibility between physical, functional, and program interfaces
  • Incorporate considerations for:

    • Reliability
    • Maintainability
    • Testability
    • Safety
    • System security
    • Human systems integration
    • Regulatory compliance


  • Resolve cross-functional technical issues and facilitate communication between stakeholders
  • Provide structure and organization to engineering challenges while supporting program execution
  • Collaborate closely with engineering leadership to identify risks and develop corrective actions




Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline and 5+ years of engineering experience
  • OR Master's degree with 3+ years of engineering experience
  • OR PhD with relevant engineering experience
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes and methodologies
  • General knowledge of aircraft systems and subsystem integration
  • Experience organizing technical issues and driving resolution plans
  • Strong planning and project coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               

     




Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience supporting aircraft integration or aircraft modernization programs
  • Aerospace or aviation industry experience
  • Experience with requirements management and systems verification processes
  • Knowledge of risk, issue, and opportunity management practices
  • Experience working in a highly collaborative engineering environment
  • Familiarity with engine integration, aircraft systems, avionics, hydraulics, electrical systems, or environmental control systems
  • Experience supporting large-scale defense or aerospace programs

Pay Details: $58.11 per hour
