About the Role
As a Dimension Control Technician, you will play a critical role in the fabrication, assembly, alignment, inspection, and maintenance of jigs and fixtures used throughout the aerospace manufacturing process. Your expertise will help ensure complex aircraft components are produced to exact specifications, supporting quality, efficiency, and mission success.

Employment Type: Full-Time Consultant (6 Months)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 4x10 Schedule
Pay Rate: $43.01 per hour

What You'll Do
Design and Fabrication
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
Support the creation and fabrication of jigs and fixtures used in aerospace manufacturing.
Utilize CAD models and engineering data to verify tooling designs.
Apply knowledge of materials, machining processes, and manufacturing methods to optimize tooling solutions.
Assembly and Alignment
Assemble jigs, fixtures, and tooling components to precise specifications.
Verify alignment and dimensional accuracy using:
Laser tracking systems
Calipers
Micrometers
Precision measuring equipment
Perform adjustments and fine-tuning to achieve required tolerances.
Inspection and Quality Control
Conduct inspections to ensure tooling meets engineering and quality requirements.
Document measurements, inspection findings, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with quality teams to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Ensure compliance with aerospace manufacturing standards and specifications.
Maintenance and Repair
Perform preventive maintenance on tooling and fixtures.
Replace worn or damaged components.
Troubleshoot and repair tooling issues to maintain operational efficiency.
Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance tooling performance and reliability.
Collaboration and Process Improvement
Partner with engineers, machinists, quality personnel, and production teams.
Support manufacturing process improvements and efficiency initiatives.
Communicate recommendations related to tooling design, alignment, and performance.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Minimum 4 years of related experience in manufacturing, tooling, machining, metrology, or dimensional control
Experience with one or more of the following:
CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines)
CNC machining
Laser tracking systems
Precision measurement equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
Ability to frequently move and position objects weighing up to 35 pounds
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in a warehouse and production environment
Ability to handle and assemble small parts and machinery
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree in a technical field
Experience using laser tracking in an aircraft manufacturing environment
Tool and Die experience
Knowledge of metrology processes and laser tracker setup
Experience creating working build models using Verisurf software
Experience with Siemens NX, CATIA, or other 3D CAD systems
Forklift and overhead crane experience or willingness to obtain certification through employer-provided training
Aerospace manufacturing experience
Strong understanding of tooling, fixtures, assembly processes, and dimensional inspection techniques
