PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace and defense industry to hire an experienced Structural Technician. In this role, you'll use your structural assembly expertise to build, modify, and maintain complex aerospace structures while ensuring every component meets strict engineering and quality standards.
What You'll Do
Perform major structural assembly and minor part-fitting operations, including filing, sawing, burring, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming.
Align and assemble aircraft structures using jigs, templates, fixtures, and technical drawings.
Measure and verify part dimensions using precision tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Install fasteners including rivets, hi-locks, and other structural hardware.
Complete structural modifications and incorporate engineering changes into assemblies.
Perform airframe repair and refinishing tasks, including corrosion removal as applicable.
Interpret and follow technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and aerospace publications.
Ensure installations meet required specifications, including edge distance and pitch requirements.
Monitor and verify quality through established inspection and process control procedures.
Maintain a safe work environment while supporting aerospace production requirements.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of relevant structural assembly experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Must own and maintain tools in good working condition.
Experience with aircraft structural assembly and minor part-fitting techniques.
Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, manuals, and publications.
Experience completing installations while maintaining proper edge distance and pitch requirements.
Experience installing structural fasteners, including rivets and hi-locks.
Knowledge of structural repair, refinishing, and airframe corrosion removal processes.
Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment and meet physical requirements, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace and defense industry experience.
Background with the U.S. Department of Defense, NASA, or U.S. military programs.
Willingness and ability to travel.
