PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aerospace and defense industry to hire an innovative Electrical Engineer. As an Instrumentation Specialist, you'll design, integrate, and support aircraft data acquisition systems that enable critical flight testing and FANMIL certification. Working with multidisciplinary engineering teams, you'll help ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of flight test data while contributing to the development of advanced aerospace products.
What You'll Do
Design, develop, test, and integrate aircraft instrumentation systems to support flight test and certification activities.
Develop instrumentation solutions for mechanical and electrical aircraft systems to collect critical flight data.
Maintain NIST-compliant calibration and verification standards for measurement equipment.
Document, control, and manage calibration records for instrumentation systems.
Support hardware and software requirements for data acquisition systems and IADS real-time displays.
Install and validate flight test sensors, including strain gauges, accelerometers, and related instrumentation.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support product development, testing, and certification.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of advanced aerospace products and systems.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Two or more years of relevant engineering experience.
Strong understanding of engineering principles and electrical design practices.
Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
Hands-on experience with aircraft instrumentation systems and flight test sensor installations.
Experience working with strain gauges, accelerometers, and other aircraft test instrumentation.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering and development teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
Knowledge of electrical design principles, model-based definition, component selection, manufacturing, and production processes.
Familiarity with telemetry systems and aircraft data acquisition.
Experience with communication protocols including MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN Bus, and Ethernet.
Experience using Curtiss-Wright hardware, software, and IADS real-time display systems.
