Equipment & Tool Designer
Location: Renton, WA | Schedule: 1st shift, start time 5-9 AM | Pay Rates: $38 to $56 per hour

As an Equipment & Tool Designer, you'll collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and production teams to develop tooling and equipment solutions that support complex aerospace build plans.
Key responsibilities include:
Investigate, develop, and design complex equipment and tooling concepts that support aerospace product design and manufacturing requirements.
Participate in design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and recommend innovative solutions.
Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering drawings, 3D models, and design documentation.
Research and evaluate robotics, automation, and emerging technologies to improve manufacturing processes and production efficiency.
Develop off-load packages, equipment specifications, purchase requests, and tooling usage instructions.
Ensure tooling designs meet safety, quality, reliability, maintainability, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
Create inspection procedures, preventive maintenance plans, and user training documentation for equipment and tooling.
Provide technical support by investigating engineering changes, manufacturing discrepancies, and production issues to identify effective solutions.
Maintain equipment and software configuration documentation.
Evaluate existing tooling and recommend improvements, repairs, or replacement strategies to support ongoing production success.
Minimum of 3 years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to solve complex design and manufacturing challenges.
Experience interpreting engineering drawings and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Associate's Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing, or a related technical field, plus 3 or more years of related experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience using 3D modeling and CAD design tools.
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), including reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
Experience supporting aerospace or complex manufacturing environments.
One or more years of Project Management experience.
Familiarity with robotics, automation, or advanced manufacturing technologies.
