PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aerospace and defense organization to hire an experienced Avionics Technician IV. If you have extensive avionics maintenance experience and enjoy solving complex technical challenges, this is your opportunity to work on advanced aircraft modification and maintenance programs that support mission-critical aviation systems.
In this role, you'll perform advanced avionics installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair while helping ensure aircraft meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
What You'll Do
Perform avionics maintenance in accordance with FCC, FAA, and company policies and regulations.
Install, test, troubleshoot, and repair moderately complex avionics systems and components.
Assemble and route wiring harnesses, terminate connectors, perform ring-out testing, and conduct functional testing for aircraft modification projects.
Interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and engineering documentation.
Perform advanced wiring installation, wiring repair, soldering, crimping, and avionics component integration.
Maintain avionics test equipment, tools, and technical manuals.
Support aircraft modification programs while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Mentor and guide less experienced technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED and 10+ years of relevant avionics experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Extensive experience performing avionics maintenance, installation, testing, troubleshooting, and repair.
Hands-on experience with harness assembly, wire routing, connector termination, ring-out, and functional testing.
Experience terminating COAX, CIR-MIL, RJ-45 Network, and D-SUB connectors.
Advanced ability to read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and engineering publications.
Strong skills in avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, soldering, and crimping techniques.
Must provide your own tools in good working condition.
Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment and meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with FCC regulations and FCC GROL certification.
Experience mentoring and guiding junior technicians.
Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, spectrometers, and pitot static test equipment.
Background in the aerospace and defense industry, the U.S. Department of Defense, or military aviation.
Experience with TRIAX, QUADRAX, fiber-optic assemblies, or El Ochito RF connectors is a plus.
