Summary:
Inspects structural damage on grounded aircraft and executes urgent sheet metal and composite repairs.
Performs sheet metal layouts, close-tolerance hole drilling, countersinking, and bucking rivets for aircraft structures.
Executes complex structural repairs per Structural Repair Manuals (SRM) and engineering blueprints.
Performs composite fixes and flight control rigging on aircraft structures.
Travels rapidly to remote or field locations to return grounded aircraft to service.
Completes accurate work order sign-offs, component logs, and maintenance records.
Applies strict FAA regulations and OEM specifications for structural modifications and repairs.
Performs structural repairs outside standard hangars in various field environments.
Uses comprehensive sheet metal and aviation mechanic hand tools for urgent repairs.
Applies composite repair techniques for aircraft structural components.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) license with Airframe rating preferred.
3 to 5+ years of hands-on aircraft structures or heavy sheet metal experience.
Experience as an Aircraft on Ground (AOG) structures mechanic with rapid response or GO TEAM experience.
Experience with composite repairs on aircraft structures.
Experience performing sheet metal repairs, including close-tolerance drilling, countersinking, and riveting.
Experience interpreting Structural Repair Manuals (SRM) and engineering blueprints.
Owns and maintains a comprehensive set of basic sheet metal and aviation mechanic hand tools.
Preferred: Experience on 787 aircraft for urgent structural repairs.
Ability to travel domestically or internationally on short notice for AOG response.
