Chipton-Ross is seeking 6 Fabrication Specialist B's for a contract opportunity in Ladson, SC.

100% onsite

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
1+ year experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly processes and procedures.
1+ year of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite and/or other specialized computer applications.
1+ year of experience following detailed work instructions, reading, and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks. Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks. Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components. Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains. Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products. Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products. Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests. Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation. Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements. Works on articles of limited complexity following established drawings and requirements.

2-3 week training.
Successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment - OJT or formal classroom training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
-Demonstrates strong effective communication skills.
-Strong work ethic and sense of urgency for completing assigned tasks/work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6-8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs/steps up to 8 hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
Ability to lift 35-40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
Ability to work with High Hazard Chemicals.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Accredited High school diploma or GED and typically 1 or more years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

WORK HOURS: MUST BE OPEN TO WORKING 1st, 2nd or 3rd SHIFT. Ability to work variable shifts, with the understanding that your assigned shift will not be confirmed until after training. Shift is based on business needs.
