Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Pay Rate: $68.19 per hour
As an Embedded Software Engineer, you'll support the development, integration, and testing of software solutions used to validate and verify advanced space payload systems.
Design, develop, integrate, test, operate, and maintain integration and test software.
Create software applications that manage automated test equipment and execute system verification testing.
Develop software solutions using Python, TCL/TK, and C++.
Support all phases of the software development lifecycle, including:
Requirements analysis
Software design
Development and coding
Integration
Testing and validation
Develop automated testing capabilities using tools such as Jenkins and Robot Framework.
Troubleshoot and debug software applications and integrated system environments.
Analyze system logs and test results to verify functionality and identify issues.
Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams.
Conduct software design reviews, peer reviews, and technical assessments.
Work alongside systems, hardware, integration, and test engineers to ensure end-to-end system performance.
Provide recommendations to technical leadership regarding software implementation and process improvements.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or another STEM discipline with:
8+ years of software development experience, or
6+ years with a Master's degree, or
3+ years with a PhD
Experience developing software in Python.
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to understand and modify existing code.
Experience integrating software applications and validating operational performance through data analysis and testing.
Experience developing software in Linux and/or Windows environments.
Experience testing software systems and resolving defects.
Experience with software configuration management tools.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a collaborative team environment.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Experience working on an Agile Scrum team.
Software development experience with C++.
Experience developing applications using TCL/TK.
Hands-on experience controlling and automating test equipment, including:
Oscilloscopes
Signal Generators
Signal Analyzers
Power Supplies
Experience integrating RF, digital, or optical systems.
Familiarity with automation tools such as Jenkins and Robot Framework.
Experience optimizing embedded Python applications.
Strong troubleshooting skills within complex integrated hardware/software environments.
Experience using Atlassian tools, including:
Jira
Confluence
Bitbucket
Active TS/SCI Security Clearance.
