PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Sr Advanced Project Engineering to lead the development and execution of advanced aerospace and avionics programs. This high-visibility role combines technical leadership, project management, customer engagement, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful project delivery.

You will serve as the primary technical interface for customers and program leadership while guiding engineering teams through proposal development, scope definition, execution, risk management, and certification activities.

What You'll Do

 Program & Project Leadership

  • Lead engineering teams in the development of proposals, statements of work, and cost estimates

  • Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and resource requirements

  • Establish project plans and forecasts using Microsoft Project

  • Drive execution from project initiation through delivery and certification

 Cost, Schedule & Performance Management

  • Monitor project performance against budget and schedule objectives

  • Utilize Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics to track program health

  • Identify and resolve issues that impact cost, quality, or delivery

  • Ensure projects remain aligned with customer commitments and business goals

Risk & Change Management

  • Lead formal risk management activities

  • Develop mitigation plans for identified risks and issues

  • Manage scope changes through disciplined baseline change management processes

  • Ensure program objectives are achieved while controlling project growth

 Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers and program managers

  • Provide project updates, technical guidance, and status reporting

  • Build strong relationships with:

    • Customers

    • Engineering teams

    • Internal leadership

    • Certification agencies

    • External partners

 Continuous Improvement & Problem Solving

  • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities

  • Drive process improvements that enhance project execution and program performance

  • Promote best practices in project management and engineering leadership

 Aerospace & Certification Support

  • Support the development and certification of aerospace systems

  • Collaborate across engineering disciplines to ensure technical success

  • Maintain focus on aviation safety, quality, and regulatory compliance


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in:

    • Engineering

    • Aerospace Engineering

    • Electrical Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Related technical discipline

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in:

    • Project Engineering

    • Engineering Program Management

    • Aerospace Project Leadership

  • Ability to lead technical teams and manage complex projects

  • Experience with:

    • Scheduling

    • Budget management

    • Resource forecasting

    • Risk management

  • U.S. Person status required for export control compliance


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing:

    • TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance Systems)

    • ADS-B Transponders

    • Commercial avionics systems

    • Military avionics systems

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Earned Value Management (EVM) experience

  • Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) leadership experience

  • Advanced degree in Engineering or a related discipline

  • Aerospace certification experience

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed

Pay Details: $64.50 per hour
