PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to find a talented Manufacturing Engineer to support the Chinook Airframe Engineering Team in Ridley Park, PA. Position: Manufacturing Engineer (Level 3)

Location: Ridley Park, PA

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 1st Shift (7:00 AM-4:00 PM)

Pay Rate: Starting at $59.39 per hour

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a key role in developing, implementing, and enhancing manufacturing processes that support the production of Chinook airframe structures and assemblies. Working closely with engineering, production, quality, tooling, planning, and supply chain teams, you'll help ensure products are built efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.



Your expertise will directly influence manufacturability, production readiness, cost efficiency, and overall program success.



What You'll Do



Manufacturing Process Development & Improvement




  • Support the development, implementation, and refinement of manufacturing processes for airframe components and assemblies.
  • Evaluate designs and participate in producibility reviews to ensure manufacturing readiness.
  • Translate engineering drawings, models, specifications, and requirements into practical manufacturing processes and work instructions.
  • Assist in defining tooling, fixtures, jigs, and assembly methods that optimize production efficiency.


Problem Solving & Production Support




  • Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Investigate defects, quality escapes, and process disruptions to identify effective corrective actions.
  • Partner with production teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve workflow.
  • Apply structured problem-solving techniques to support continuous improvement initiatives.


Cross-Functional Collaboration




  • Collaborate with design engineering to improve manufacturability, assembly sequencing, quality, and cost performance.
  • Work closely with quality, tooling, planning, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturing requirements are met.
  • Maintain and update manufacturing documentation, process plans, work instructions, and special process requirements.
  • Support production line operations through engineering analysis and technical guidance.


Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor's degree in:

    • Manufacturing Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Aerospace Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Or a related engineering discipline


  • Typically 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience supporting mechanical assemblies or manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, models, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis, corrective actions, and process improvement activities.
  • Strong ability to work within cross-functional engineering and production teams.


Preferred Qualifications




  • Aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience supporting airframe structures, assemblies, or complex mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with production readiness reviews and manufacturing process development.
  • Advanced technical education or equivalent combination of education and experience (Master's degree plus relevant experience preferred).
  • ABET-accredited engineering degree preferred, though not required.

Pay Details: $59.39 per hour
