What You'll Do
As a Quality Inspector, you'll perform detailed inspections of aerospace components and assemblies while working closely with production and engineering teams to maintain exceptional quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of in-process and completed aerospace components and assemblies.
Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, comparators, pin gages, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection instructions, and work documentation.
Make acceptance or rejection decisions based on inspection results and established quality standards.
Conduct receiving inspections of purchased materials and components against engineering requirements and supplier certifications.
Identify, document, and track nonconforming materials while supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions.
Maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and quality documentation.
Partner with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve processes, resolve quality issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED, plus at least 3 years of additional education and/or direct experience in quality inspection or quality assurance.
Experience using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, comparators, pin gages, and other measuring equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation.
Strong attention to detail and sound judgment when making quality decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Strong computer and documentation skills.
Experience reading control plans, Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and engineering specifications.
Familiarity with IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, or similar electronics workmanship standards.
Experience in aerospace manufacturing, mechanical assemblies, or electronic assemblies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a cross-functional manufacturing environment.
