PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a global leader in the manufacturing industry to identify an experienced and forward-thinking Sr. Enterprise Architect. This is a unique opportunity to lead enterprise-scale cloud automation initiatives, influence strategic technology decisions, and architect cutting-edge VMware-based solutions that support business operations worldwide.

What You'll Do
As a key member of the SDDC Team, you'll serve as the technical authority for VMware cloud automation platforms and enterprise infrastructure architecture. You'll lead the design, implementation, optimization, and automation of mission-critical VMware environments while collaborating with global teams to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient solutions.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Oversee and manage global vRealize Automation (vRA) and VMware Cloud Director (VCD) environments.
Administer VMware infrastructure and troubleshoot complex vRA/VCD-related issues.
Design, script, implement, and manage enterprise IaaS solutions, including VM creation and lifecycle management tools.
Create new endpoints and landing zones for vRA deployments and provision new vORGs within VCD.
Enhance and customize vRA functionality using JavaScript and automation frameworks.
Develop automation solutions using JavaScript, REST APIs, PowerShell, Git, VMware APIs, SDKs, and orchestration tools.
Serve as the VMware Subject Matter Expert (SME) for:
Plan, implement, and test vRA 7.x upgrades, including tenant and fabric group design and configuration.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop VM provisioning and decommissioning workflows in vRO.
Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives for production and non-production cloud automation blueprints and workflows.
Deploy and manage:
Azure VMware Solution (AVS) and Azure NetApp Files (ANF)
VMware Cloud on AWS and Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP
Google Cloud VMware Engine and Google Cloud NetApp Volumes
Contribute to enterprise architecture strategies, standards, and best practices that drive operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
6+ years of IT architecture experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership, technical lead, or management capacity.
Extensive hands-on experience with:
VMware vRA
vRO
VMware Cloud Director (VCD)
NSX-T
Strong expertise in VMware environment administration and cloud automation.
Proficiency in JavaScript, REST APIs, and PowerShell scripting.
Experience designing and implementing enterprise IaaS solutions.
VMware certifications in vRA, vRO, VCD, or related VMware technologies.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and decision-making skills.
Proven leadership and collaboration capabilities.
Deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
U.S. Citizenship required due to work performed in both export-controlled and non-export-controlled environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced engineering degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Additional expertise with vRO, vRA, and VCD environments.
Experience navigating and optimizing complex multi-cloud and hybrid cloud ecosystems.
Familiarity with change management processes and governance frameworks.
Exceptional problem-solving, troubleshooting, and systems-thinking capabilities.
