Job Title: Business Operations Specialist
Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)
Location: Berkeley, MO
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $40 to $45 per hour
As a Business Operations Specialist, you'll serve as a strategic partner to engineering and business leaders by transforming data into actionable insights. You'll support critical aerospace and defense programs through project tracking, performance analysis, forecasting, risk management, and executive-level reporting. Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence, program success, and informed decision-making across the organization.
Collect, analyze, and interpret complex program, project, and operational data.
Develop metrics, dashboards, data visualizations, and executive presentations.
Monitor project performance and communicate key trends through reports, charts, and graphs.
Support forecasting activities and business planning efforts.
Assist with the development and integration of business plans, strategies, schedules, and operational processes.
Track program effectiveness using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.
Develop and maintain project schedules, including complex Gantt charts.
Support engineering teams with proposal data collection and business case development.
Identify project risks and opportunities and support mitigation planning.
Maintain status reports and coordinate business performance results.
Partner with accounting and cross-functional teams to support business plan and forecast objectives.
Communicate critical information, actions, decisions, and risks to stakeholders.
Lead and support cross-site and cross-functional initiatives.
Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, and leadership teams.
Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced team members.
Help drive process improvements and operational efficiency across the business.
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting process or project metrics.
5+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and executive presentations.
3+ years of experience supporting and leading business processes for large-scale projects.
3+ years of experience creating and delivering presentations to various levels of leadership.
2+ years of experience in an analyst role supporting complex projects and programs.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Familiarity with Defense & Space programs and organizations.
Experience with risk and opportunity tools and processes, including BORIS.
Knowledge Program Management Best Practices (PMBP).
Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities.
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for continuous improvement.
Experience presenting actionable business recommendations to senior leadership.
