Position Details

  • Job Title: Business Operations Specialist

  • Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (6-Month Assignment)

  • Location: Berkeley, MO

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

  • Pay Rate: $40 to $45 per hour

As a Business Operations Specialist, you'll serve as a strategic partner to engineering and business leaders by transforming data into actionable insights. You'll support critical aerospace and defense programs through project tracking, performance analysis, forecasting, risk management, and executive-level reporting. Your work will directly contribute to operational excellence, program success, and informed decision-making across the organization.


What You'll Do

Business Performance & Analytics

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret complex program, project, and operational data.

  • Develop metrics, dashboards, data visualizations, and executive presentations.

  • Monitor project performance and communicate key trends through reports, charts, and graphs.

  • Support forecasting activities and business planning efforts.

Program & Project Management Support

  • Assist with the development and integration of business plans, strategies, schedules, and operational processes.

  • Track program effectiveness using Earned Value Management (EVM) metrics.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, including complex Gantt charts.

  • Support engineering teams with proposal data collection and business case development.

Risk & Opportunity Management

  • Identify project risks and opportunities and support mitigation planning.

  • Maintain status reports and coordinate business performance results.

  • Partner with accounting and cross-functional teams to support business plan and forecast objectives.

  • Communicate critical information, actions, decisions, and risks to stakeholders.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and support cross-site and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Collaborate with engineering, program management, finance, and leadership teams.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced team members.

  • Help drive process improvements and operational efficiency across the business.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of related professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 5+ years of experience collecting, analyzing, and reporting process or project metrics.

  • 5+ years of experience utilizing Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for data analysis and executive presentations.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and leading business processes for large-scale projects.

  • 3+ years of experience creating and delivering presentations to various levels of leadership.

  • 2+ years of experience in an analyst role supporting complex projects and programs.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance. 

  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               
     


Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Defense & Space programs and organizations.

  • Experience with  risk and opportunity tools and processes, including BORIS.

  • Knowledge Program Management Best Practices (PMBP).

  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Control Account Manager (CAM) responsibilities.

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-starter with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for continuous improvement.

  • Experience presenting actionable business recommendations to senior leadership.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
