Position Overview





Location: Hazelwood, MO

Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-Month Assignment)

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 1st Shift | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Pay Rate: Starting at $59.75/hour



In this dynamic engineering role, you'll support the development, integration, testing, and sustainment of sophisticated maintenance computing systems used throughout the aircraft and weapons system lifecycle. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll help design critical electrical systems and infrastructure that enable advanced testing, diagnostics, maintenance, and operational readiness for aerospace platforms.



Your expertise will directly contribute to mission success by ensuring robust, reliable, and compliant system designs that support both current and future aviation technologies.



What You'll Do



As a Design and Analysis Engineer, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:




  • Supporting hardware and software integration activities for advanced aerospace systems.
  • Designing and documenting electrical systems, interfaces, connections, components, and architectures.
  • Developing electrical wiring solutions to support test articles and subsystem integration.
  • Analyzing system schematics and creating electrical design solutions.
  • Developing and refining system requirements and interface specifications.
  • Performing system verification, validation, and selloff activities.
  • Supporting lab and flight test instrumentation, data acquisition, and troubleshooting.
  • Selecting and evaluating electrical hardware, including cables, connectors, shielding, terminal blocks, and related components.
  • Collaborating with test labs, installation teams, suppliers, and engineering stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
  • Investigating and resolving issues associated with fielded hardware and software throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Utilizing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as DOORS and Cameo to develop system architectures, perform trade studies, and support system integration efforts.
  • Researching emerging technologies and recommending innovative solutions for future applications.


Required Qualifications



To be successful in this role, you should have:




  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Data Science, or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience with electrical avionics system design, including:

    • Electrical systems and subsystem design
    • Interface cable design
    • Hardware and software integration
    • Vendor coordination and component selection
    • System testing in laboratory environments


  • Experience or familiarity with VPX/VME form factors.
  • Knowledge of communication standards and protocols such as:

    • RS422/RS232
    • PC104
    • TCP/IP and Ethernet
    • IEEE-488
    • MMSI
    • MIL-STD-1553


  • Technical systems domain knowledge related to aircraft, aerospace platforms, or weapon systems.
  • Experience supporting product or systems development and integration activities.


Preferred Qualifications



Standout candidates may also possess:




  • Experience with cybersecurity principles or cybersecurity certifications.
  • Knowledge of network architecture and design.
  • Familiarity with military standards including:

    • MIL-STD-810
    • MIL-STD-461
    • MIL-STD-1472


  • Experience using CAD tools and developing electrical schematics.
  • Experience with systems engineering tools, schedules, and metrics, including DOORS, Cameo, and Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in a related engineering discipline.

Pay Details: $59.75 per hour
