PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation company to find a detail-driven Shipping/Receiving Assistant in Mitchel Field, NY. Role Snapshot

• Position: Shipping/Receiving Assistant
  
• Pay Rate: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
  
• Duration: 12-month assignment
  
• Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday–Thursday (4/10 schedule)
  
• Location: Mitchel Field, NY
  

In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring materials, parts, and equipment move efficiently through the supply chain—directly supporting aviation operations where accuracy and timing are essential.

What You’ll Do

• Receive, inspect, and process incoming materials and shipments
  
• Prepare packages and documentation for outgoing shipments
  
• Verify quantities, weights, and compliance with specifications
  
• Use computer systems to track, log, and report inventory and shipments
  
• Handle shipping paperwork including freight bills, packing slips, and bills of lading
  
• Follow established shipping procedures, routing guidelines, and schedules
  
• Safely pack, unpack, and move items such as parts, assemblies, raw materials, and equipment
  
• Coordinate routing of goods to appropriate internal or external destinations
  
• Maintain organized and accurate shipment records
  

Required Qualifications

• High attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping
  
• Ability to perform manual handling tasks and lift materials safely
  
• Basic computer skills for data entry and tracking systems
  
• Understanding of shipping/receiving processes or warehouse operations
  
• Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  
• Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance. 
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse or logistics environment
  
• Familiarity with aviation or regulated industries
  
• Exposure to or willingness to complete specialized training, including:
  
  
  
  • Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Awareness
    
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD)
    
  • HAZMAT Awareness
    
  • Hoist Operation
    
  • PPE and Safety Training
    
  • Lifting and Handling Techniques
