PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a premier aviation and aerospace leader to hire a skilled Dimension Control Technician in Palmdale, CA. About the Role



As a Dimension Control Technician, you will ensure the accuracy and integrity of tooling and assemblies that are essential to aircraft production. Your work directly impacts quality, safety, and performance—helping deliver reliable, high-performance aircraft. This is a hands-on, highly technical role where precision and craftsmanship are key.





What You’ll Do



In this role, you will:




  • Lay out, fabricate, and assemble complex jigs, fixtures, and tooling systems with tight tolerances
  • Interpret tool design drawings—or create your own—to plan work methods and sequences
  • Work with compound angles and intricate contours to ensure alignment across multiple planes
  • Set up and operate optical instruments to verify alignment, fit, and adjustments
  • Design and develop holding devices, jigs, and fixture components
  • Create shop drawings and operational plans for fabrication and assembly teams
  • Monitor product quality using statistical process controls and other inspection methods
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling meets design and manufacturing requirements




What You Bring



Required Qualifications




  • Experience working with tooling, jigs, fixtures, and precision measurement systems
  • Ability to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications
  • Strong understanding of alignment, measurement, and tolerance control
  • Experience operating optical measurement instruments
  • Proven ability to plan work, determine methods, and execute independently
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality




Preferred Qualifications




  • Background in aerospace tooling or manufacturing environments
  • Experience with complex contours, compound angles, and multi-plane alignment
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) or quality verification processes
  • Ability to design tooling components and improve existing processes

Pay Details: $43.01 per hour
