Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Investigates and develops equipment and tooling concepts and specifications to satisfy aerospace product design and build requirements.

Performs tool liaison activities to support tool fabrication and production use.

Participates in design reviews, collects design requirements, creates and revises drawings and models to support the build plan.

Creates specifications and purchase requests for acquisition of new equipment and tooling from external vendors.

Checks designs for compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.

Develops and documents equipment and tooling inspection and usage instructions, preventative maintenance plans, and supports user training development.

Manages budgets and schedules to deliver equipment and tooling solutions to customers.

Applies pressure vessel codes such as ASME Section VIII and related ASME or ANSI codes.

Applies piping codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3.

Applies thermodynamics and fluid mechanics principles.

Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent directly related to work statement.

3 or more years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred: 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Pressure Vessel Design Engineer.

Preferred: Working knowledge and application of pressure vessel codes such as ASME Section VIII and related ASME or ANSI codes.

Preferred: Knowledge and application of NBIC codes Part 1, 2, 3, and 4.

Preferred: Application of piping codes such as ASME B31.1 or B31.3.

Preferred: Understanding of pressure vessel fabrication processes and maintenance procedures.

Preferred: Understanding of material mechanics and behaviors under extreme temperatures and vibrations.

Preferred: Knowledge of non-destructive examination procedures (magnetic particle examination and ultrasonic testing) and welding procedures and testing requirements.
