Packaging Engineer
PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading innovator in the aviation industry to bring on a skilled Packaging Engineer who will play a critical role in optimizing packaging solutions, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency across global supply chains.
As a Packaging Engineer, you will help shape how high-value aerospace components are packaged, stored, and transported worldwide. Your work will directly impact operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, cost reduction, and the safe handling of materials—including hazardous goods—supporting one of the most advanced industries in the world.
Location: Swedesboro, NJ
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $51.00/hour
Type: Full-Time Consultant (3-month assignment)
In this dynamic role, you will:
Evaluate packaging equipment and solutions, providing cost-effective recommendations supported by data and written justification
Coordinate equipment procurement, including research, supplier evaluation, and quotation analysis
Develop and optimize packaging strategies for global distribution, improving efficiency in storage and transportation
Design warehouse material flows, layouts, and storage systems to enhance operational performance
Analyze logistics processes while ensuring compliance with domestic and international regulations
Calculate storage capacity requirements and identify appropriate material handling equipment
Support hazardous materials (HazMat) compliance, including classification, packaging instructions, labeling, and documentation
Maintain adherence to HM-232 Hazardous Materials Security Plans and regulatory standards
Assist in budget preparation, cost tracking, and billing processes related to packaging equipment and logistics
Promote safety and compliance through training support and regulatory awareness initiatives
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
6+ years of related experience in packaging, logistics, or engineering
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong experience with industrial packaging (aerospace or automotive preferred)
Knowledge of warehouse operations and material flow
Proficiency using multiple systems for data review and analysis
Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
Experience with hazardous materials (dangerous goods) transportation and compliance
Familiarity with international shipping regulations and documentation
Background in logistics optimization and cost analysis
