PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the HVAC manufacturing industry to hire a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced production environment. This is more than a design role—it's an opportunity to be on the manufacturing floor, solving real-time challenges, optimizing equipment performance, and leading improvements that keep production running safely and efficiently.

If you're energized by troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and making a direct impact on manufacturing operations, this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you'll be a key technical resource supporting production, equipment reliability, and process improvement. You'll spend a significant portion of your time on the production floor, working alongside operations and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and maximize performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design and plan manufacturing layouts for assembly operations, material handling, and production workflows.

  • Adapt machinery, equipment, and tooling designs to meet manufacturing and production requirements.

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, tooling, and operational procedures that enhance product quality and performance.

  • Respond quickly to equipment failures, production issues, and plant emergencies, serving as the technical expert to restore operations and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Troubleshoot equipment and tooling issues while providing technical support to maintenance, tooling, and production teams.

  • Recommend, develop, and implement preventive maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee equipment repairs, modifications, upgrades, and tooling improvements.

  • Verify equipment is fully operational and safely released back into production following maintenance activities.

  • Lead Kaizen events and continuous improvement initiatives that increase production output, improve efficiency, and eliminate waste.

  • Utilize maintenance management systems, tooling management software, purchase order systems, and production planning tools to support manufacturing operations.

  • Identify and implement improvements that reduce costs, improve product quality, enhance workplace safety, and create ergonomic solutions for production teams.

  • Champion OSHA regulations along with environmental, health, and safety initiatives to maintain a safe manufacturing environment.

  • Foster positive working relationships with union representatives while ensuring compliance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

  • Experience supporting manufacturing operations in a production environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for manufacturing equipment and tooling.

  • Experience with manufacturing process improvement and equipment optimization.

  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance principles and equipment reliability.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and respond to production priorities.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and manufacturing safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Controls or automation experience, including exposure to PLCs or manufacturing control systems.

  • Experience in HVAC, appliance, automotive, or other high-volume manufacturing environments.

  • Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, or Six Sigma experience.

  • Experience working in a union manufacturing environment.

  • Familiarity with CMMS, tooling management systems, ERP, or production planning software.
