Job Title: Composite Technician
Job Type: Full-Time | Consultant (4 Months)
Location: Kinston, NC
Schedule: Monday–Friday (Overtime may be required)
Pay Rate: Up to $37.31 per hour
As a Composite Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and repairing composite and metal components used in aviation systems. Your work ensures each part meets exact engineering standards—helping deliver high-performance aircraft components that meet strict safety and quality requirements.
Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond composite and metal parts, skins, and assemblies
Cut and prepare materials to precise specifications
Apply sealing resins to exposed edges and surfaces
Operate autoclaves, ovens, and hydraulic presses to complete bonding cycles
Utilize lay-up tools (optical and hard tools) in fabrication processes
Perform routine machine maintenance and ensure tool certifications are up to date
Sand, burr, and smooth component surfaces
Perform rework and repairs on composite and fiberglass structures as needed
Follow engineering specifications, work orders, and manufacturing processes
Inspect work to ensure compliance with process and design standards
Support continuous production flow and assist in training team members
Handle solvents and cleaning agents per safety procedures
Move materials and products throughout the manufacturing area
Complete required documentation and production tracking
Experience in composite manufacturing or repair
Skills in sanding, burring, sealing resins, and bonding processes
Ability to read and interpret work instructions and engineering specifications
Basic shop math skills and familiarity with measuring tools
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Experience with autoclaves, hot bond machines, and composite lay-up processes
Background in fiberglass repair, autobody work, or boat manufacturing
Familiarity with potting resins and advanced composite techniques
Previous experience in aerospace or high-performance manufacturing environments
