PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a motivated and analytical Industrial Engineer to support a leading aerospace manufacturer in Portland, OR. In this role, you’ll play a key part in optimizing production systems, improving workflow efficiency, and ensuring operations run smoothly across complex manufacturing environments.

Role Details




  • Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-month assignment)
  • Location: Portland, OR 97230
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
  • Pay Rate: Starting at $41.96 per hour




What You’ll Do



As an Industrial Engineer, you will:




  • Support factory operations through process optimization and workflow improvements
  • Conduct capacity planning, staffing forecasts, and recovery planning
  • Perform time studies and work measurement analysis to drive efficiency
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to improve production stability and reduce waste
  • Analyze facility layouts and recommend footprint improvements for better flow of materials and people
  • Use data analysis and root cause problem-solving to identify and resolve process issues
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and production teams
  • Develop and implement improvements that enhance product flow and operational performance
  • Support readiness efforts to ensure production meets rate and delivery requirements




What You Bring



Required Qualifications




  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, or related field preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, or production environments
  • 1+ year of experience defining, developing, or improving production processes
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and Excel
  • Experience with work measurement techniques and time studies
  • Proven problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams
  • This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.                                               

     


Preferred Qualifications




  • Experience applying lean manufacturing methodologies
  • Background in aerospace or similar high-volume manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with process improvement tools and workflow optimization techniques
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Pay Details: $41.96 per hour
