Role Details

• Job Type: Full-Time Consultant (12-month assignment)
  
• Schedule: Monday–Friday (9/80 schedule)
  
• Location: Chandler, AZ 85286 (On-site)
  
• Pay Rate: $38.80 per hour
  
• Career Path: Potential contract-to-hire, aligned with Design Engineer 2 roles
  

What You’ll Do

In this role, you will support design and engineering teams by:

• Creating and reviewing mechanical drawings and design packages to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry and military standards
  
• Developing 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX (NX 2412) within Teamcenter
  
• Assisting in evaluating designs for fit, function, manufacturability, and cost efficiency under the guidance of senior designers
  
• Supporting tolerance analysis, hardware selection, and assembly fitment reviews
  
• Applying basic GD&T principles to drawings and designs
  
• Creating and revising parametric drawings in accordance with ASME standards
  
• Verifying 3D model accuracy prior to manufacturing release
  
• Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams
  
• Participating in vendor coordination as needed
  
• Maintaining high standards of accuracy while working under deadlines
  

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in CAD/CAM or mechanical design
  
• Working knowledge of Siemens NX (or similar CAD software) and Teamcenter or PLM systems
  
• Understanding of mechanical drawings, assemblies, and design practices
  
• Basic knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  
• Familiarity with ASME standards for modeling and drawings
  
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  
• Ability to work efficiently under schedule pressure
  
• Good written and verbal communication skills
  
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Windows)
  
• Strong organization and time management abilities
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to aerospace or defense engineering environments
  
• Experience supporting manufacturing or production teams
  
• Familiarity with tolerance stack-ups and assembly design validation
  
• Eagerness to learn from senior engineers and expand technical expertise
