Aviation Technician - 1st Shift

Schedule & Pay
1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Rate: Up to $27.00 per hour
As an Aviation Technician, you'll play a vital role in maintaining and restoring aircraft safety equipment, including oxygen masks, cylinders, regulators, and fire extinguishers. Your expertise will help ensure that essential aviation systems meet the highest standards of performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
What You'll Do
Overhaul, repair, and maintain aircraft oxygen masks, fire extinguishers, and cylinder/regulator assemblies
Perform incoming inspections of equipment and components
Complete work orders, maintenance records, and related documentation
Test equipment using pressure gauges, flow meters, and other testing devices
Troubleshoot mechanical issues by following OEM maintenance manuals and specifications
Torque regulators to cylinders according to manufacturer requirements
Conduct hydrostatic testing of oxygen cylinders
Maintain compliance with safety procedures and quality standards
Properly utilize tools, equipment, and materials
Report potentially unsafe conditions and support a safe work environment
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
3–5 years of related mechanical, maintenance, repair, or aviation experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency using hand tools and precision measuring equipment
Experience working with high-pressure oxygen systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, parts manuals, maintenance manuals, and technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to perform repetitive tasks while standing or sitting for extended periods
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
Must be able to successfully complete FAA-required pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, candidates must meet all applicable work authorization and eligibility requirements for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certification
Previous aircraft maintenance, repair, or overhaul experience
Experience working in an aviation, aerospace, or MRO environment
Physical Requirements
Regular standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting
Frequent use of hands for handling, grasping, and operating tools and equipment
Ability to lift and move up to 60 pounds
Strong visual acuity, including close vision, depth perception, and color vision
Work Environment
Primarily indoor shop environment
Exposure to varying temperatures may occur during shipping and receiving activities
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses and safety-toed footwear in designated areas
