Summary:
Operates 5-axis and 3-axis CNC machines, CNC lathes, waterjet equipment, and small manual lathes and milling machines.
Determines necessary fixtures, attachments, and tools based on job specifications and mounts them before cutting.
Performs programming for 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines.
Reads and interprets mechanical drawings to understand specifications and desired outcomes.
Monitors machine run times throughout each operation cycle.
Adjusts machine speed, tooling, and cutting techniques to ensure precision and accuracy.
Oversees cutting processes, makes adjustments, and resolves issues to prevent errors.
Monitors machine temperatures and ensures proper warm-up, cool-down, and coolant maintenance.
Reviews and inputs cutting plans, making corrections as necessary.
Performs routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and tool replacement.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum two years of CNC machine operation experience.
5-axis CNC machine experience required.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
Proficiency in CNC programming and software interpretation.
Ability to perform required programming for 3-axis and 5-axis machines.
Experience with machine setup, tooling alignment, and operational processes.
Familiarity with waterjet equipment and manual lathes and milling machines.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
