Safety Administrator/Engineer (part time)

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation organization to bring on a part time Safety Administrator/Engineer who will play a critical role in protecting people, ensuring compliance, and supporting cutting-edge aircraft programs.
As a Safety Administrator/Engineer, you will be at the forefront of occupational health and safety initiatives, ensuring a safe, compliant, and high-performing environment within an aviation operation. Your work will directly support production activities, mitigate risks, and influence safety culture across teams—helping keep both employees and aircraft operations running safely and efficiently.
Location: San Antonio, TX
Schedule: Part-Time (20 hours/week; 2 weekend days, typically 8:00 AM–6:30 PM, with occasional extended hours)
Duration: 6-Month Consultant Assignment
Pay Rate: from $65 to $80 per hour
In this role, you will bring safety programs to life while driving compliance and continuous improvement:
Plan, coordinate, and conduct health and safety audits to ensure OSHA and company compliance
Serve as the primary EHS point of contact supporting aircraft modification programs
Identify hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies throughout production processes
Collaborate cross-functionally with EHS teams and site departments
Develop and deliver engaging safety training programs and maintain reporting systems
Lead or support incident investigations, inspections, and corrective action tracking
Analyze emerging safety regulations and assess their impact on operations
Prepare technical reports, safety analyses, and presentations for leadership
Recommend and evaluate risk control technologies and safety solutions
Drive continuous improvement through corrective action planning and follow-through
Bachelor’s degree or higher
5+ years of experience in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS)
Strong ability to identify, assess, and control workplace hazards
Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Experience managing safety programs and training initiatives
Must be eligible to obtain a Security Clearance.
Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification
3+ years of industrial safety experience
Experience translating regulatory requirements into procedures or desk instructions
Background working across multiple programs or locations
Experience with aircraft operations, aerospace, or MRO environments
