Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

Assembles, disassembles and modifies systems by changing, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.

Troubleshoots complex pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical systems to isolate mechanical or electrical faults and repairs faulty components.

Performs validation or verification testing of systems and components.

Documents procedures and established processes to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance (repairs, test results, modifications, inspection results).

Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements.

Performs aircraft bench or flight line operational testing and troubleshooting using complex test instruments (high frequency pulse generators, frequency synthesizers, distortion analyzers, computer control equipment).

Performs assembly, installation, check-out, operational testing and modification of wire bundles in aircraft testing, development and modification.

Interprets standard work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and job layouts.

Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions in assembly processes using precision measuring instruments, gauges, and tools.

Applies knowledge of aircraft avionics systems including Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, and Electronic Warfare on 747 platforms.

Requirements:

Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

Experience with 747 platforms.

Experience with Aircraft Avionics Systems such as Comm Nav, Data Links, Weapons, Radar, Electronic Warfare.

9+ years of experience in applied mathematics, statistics or related field.

9+ years working with schematics, specifications, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.

9+ years of experience with aircraft computer systems and basic office software.

Ability to ascend and descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.

Familiarity with Hazardous Energy and Lock Out or Tag systems applications for safe working environment.

High school diploma or GED with typically 4+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
