Summary:
Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, overhauls and modifies aircraft systems and powerplants in accordance with written procedures, specifications, and standards.
Works in MATE build area installing various parts, systems, subsystems, landing gear build up and installation.
Performs general mechanical work to prep aircraft for final assembly and check out.
Applies knowledge of aircraft systems operation and maintenance including landing gear, powerplants, flight controls, rigging, and aircraft movement.
Uses hands to grasp, handle, and feel, and performs repetitive movements and overhead work.
Comprehends safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Properly uses, handles and disposes of hazardous materials, toxic or caustic chemicals per government regulations and company procedures.
Wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed.
Works in a safe and efficient manner maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.
May be required to obtain a security clearance if work area performs classified work.
Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
5+ years aviation maintenance experience as crew chief, mechanic, or related hydraulic or mechanical work.
Ability to inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and modify aircraft systems and powerplants.
Ability to install parts, systems, subsystems, and perform landing gear build up and installation.
Knowledge of landing gear, powerplants, flight controls, rigging, and aircraft movement.
Ability to comprehend safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to use hands to grasp, handle, feel, reach, and perform repetitive movements and work overhead.
Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on or in the aircraft.
Ability to lift or push or pull up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
