Chipton-Ross is seeking multiple Aircraft Mechanic 3's for a contract opportunity in Luka, MS.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): High School Diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in hydraulic parts, assemblies, components, or systems in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing and/or maintenance environment Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period, as defined by the company to meet its business needs. U.S. Citizenship required for clearance. Must successfully complete and pass the ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance within a reasonable time period, as defined by the company to meet its business need Must have the ability to work any shift
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Read and understand blueprints Translate blueprints into fabrications of structural assemblies to include precision drilling, countersinking, and the use of calibrated tools Aligning parts on jigs using templates and fixtures Performing part-fitting operations: filing sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming Measures parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedure Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems Use of appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE): Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance Experience in aerospace manufacturing Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools (Drills, grinders, sanders, cutting wheels, saws, tape measures, scales, micrometers, dial calipers, etc.) Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical specifications and operating procedures Experience working to electronic or written instructions Ability to read engineering drawings
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitious work to include: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma/GED is required. School must be accredited.
WORK HOURS: 4/10 work week. Must have the ability to work any shift. This position may be filled at varying shift times A shift - Mon-Thurs 7am-5:30pm B Shift - Mon-Thurs 5:30pm-4am
