Maintenance Technician I

🕒 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM
Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, solving mechanical problems, and keeping production running smoothly? PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a dependable and motivated Maintenance Technician I to join a growing manufacturing team in Fontana, CA.
As a Maintenance Technician I, you will play a critical role in maintaining and repairing production equipment while supporting a safe and efficient manufacturing environment.
Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment using manuals, schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment issues and restore equipment to optimal operating condition.
Perform preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Calibrate and adjust machine tools and production equipment.
Modify machinery and facility systems to support specialized production requirements.
Perform minor building maintenance, including basic plumbing and electrical repairs.
Maintain spare parts inventory and technical documentation.
Support workplace organization and cleanliness through 5S principles.
Utilize welding equipment to repair or join metal components as needed.
Dismantle machinery and replace defective components, motors, belts, and feed mechanisms.
Clean and lubricate shafts, pulleys, gears, bearings, and other machine components.
Remove dust, dirt, grease, and debris from equipment and work areas.
Paint machinery and equipment to prevent corrosion.
Cut, bend, thread, and install piping systems.
Repair plumbing fixtures and clear clogged drains.
Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in accordance with company safety standards.
Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
High School Diploma or GED.
Mechanical aptitude and maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Ability to read and interpret basic instructions, technical documents, and work orders.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
Willingness to work around moving machinery, varying temperatures, and industrial conditions.
Ability to read and interpret:
Blueprints
Hydraulic diagrams
Electrical schematics
Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
Experience with furnaces and induction equipment.
Previous HVAC experience.
Experience using cutting torches and performing basic welding.
Industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
This position requires working around production equipment, moving mechanical parts, and varying environmental conditions. Candidates should be comfortable standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, crouching, and lifting throughout the shift while maintaining a strong commitment to safety.
