Supply Chain Specialist 3

Description:
Chipton-Ross is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist 3 for a contract opportunity in Newport News. VA.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's Degree in related field and 6 years or Master's degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience.
o PPE: Steel toed boots, hard hat, hearing protection and eye protection.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Responsible for purchasing a variety of complex or technical materials, supplies or services.
o Evaluates bids, selects and recommends suppliers and negotiates price, delivery, quality and service.
o Follows up on all awards until completion of order.
o Negotiates and settles with suppliers regarding damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over shipments, cancellations and engineering changes.
o Conducts supplier site visits and rates them as to production capability, performance and delivery.
o May provide work leadership for lower level employees.
o Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
o Full knowledge of industry practices. Independently demonstrates the skill and ability to perform fairly complex professional tasks.
o Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
o May refer to established precedents and policies.
o Performs fairly complex tasks and participates in determining objectives of assignment.
o Plan schedules and arranges own activities in accomplishing objectives.
o Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.
o Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
o Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.
o Represents organization as a prime contact on contracts or projects. Interacts with senior internal and external personnel on significant matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
o May develop and deliver presentations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o SAP experience
o FAR/DFAR exposure/knowledge
o Negotiation skills
o Excellent organizational skills
o Excel/Power BI experience.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree is required.
School must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
5/40, First Shift 7:00AM-3:30 PM.
