Qualifying Questions:

Summary:

    Applies chemistry, physics, and material science to develop and qualify composite materials and processing methods.

    Provides technical evaluation and material and process support to composite part fabrication.

    Performs root-cause investigations and implements corrective and preventive actions for material and process issues.

    Creates and executes test plans, writes reports, and provides input to specifications for materials, tools, and processes.

    Qualifies and approves equipment, materials and processes.

    Guides material testing in the Materials and Processes Laboratory.

    Coordinates with Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.

    Integrates new technologies and promotes standardization across product lines.

    Manages test or audit programs and ensures regulatory and contractual compliance incorporating EHS, LEAN, and Quality principles.

    Applies knowledge of composite failure modes and failure analysis.

Requirements:

    Ability to obtain U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).

    Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course in engineering, engineering technology (including manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

    Bachelor s degree with 2+ years of experience or a Master s degree.

    Preferred: 1+ years working with composites, elastomers, and associated processing techniques.

    Preferred: Hands-on lab experience with polymer chemistry analytical techniques.

    Preferred: Familiarity with materials such as epoxy, cyanate ester, bismaleimide, urethane, polyimide, reinforcements, and adhesives.

    Preferred: Experience with composite failure modes (structural and nonstructural) and failure analysis.

    Preferred: Experience in technical specifications, reports, and test plans.

    Preferred: Ability to read engineering drawings and use Microsoft Office products.
