About the Role
As a Senior Machinist, you'll play a vital role in supporting the development and production of advanced aerospace tooling and components. Your expertise in CNC machining, programming, setup, inspection, and process optimization will help ensure the highest levels of quality, precision, and operational efficiency. You'll work alongside talented engineers, technicians, and manufacturing professionals to create products that help shape the future of flight.
What You'll Do
Lead CNC mill and lathe cell operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
Perform complex CNC machine setup, programming, and operation using G-code, M-code, and CAM software such as Mastercam.
Manufacture and fabricate precision tooling, dies, fixtures, and aerospace components to exact specifications.
Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T requirements, and 3D tool models.
Conduct in-process inspections and quality control using precision measurement and inspection tools.
Troubleshoot machining challenges and implement process improvements to optimize performance and quality.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to support manufacturing objectives.
Promote and actively participate in Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) programs while identifying and addressing workplace hazards.
Machine a wide variety of materials, including steels, aluminum, titanium, super alloys, plastics, composites, and additive-manufactured parts.
Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives across the machining team.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 8 years of experience in tool and die fabrication.
At least 5 years of experience leading CNC mill and/or lathe cell operations.
Demonstrated expertise in CNC setup, programming, and operation.
Proficiency with CAM software, including Mastercam or similar platforms.
Advanced ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and 3D tool models.
Strong understanding of precision inspection equipment and in-process quality control methods.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to cross-functional teams.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with ESH standards.
Experience machining a broad range of materials, including steels, alloys, aluminum, titanium, super alloys, plastics, composites, and additive-manufactured components.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience training, mentoring, and developing junior machinists.
Ability to coach team members on machine setup, inspection techniques, and tooling best practices.
