Location: Savannah, GA | Payrate: $80.52/hour | Schedule: 1st shift: 7am to 5:30pm 

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the development, certification, and production of world-class aircraft. In this high-impact role, you'll serve as a technical leader, driving complex engineering initiatives while collaborating across design, manufacturing, and product support teams to deliver innovative aerospace solutions. 

What You'll Do 

• Maintain aircraft type design by developing and managing form, fit, and function documentation. 

• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product support teams to complete design activities. 

• Participate in design reviews and provide technical leadership on complex engineering challenges. 

• Prepare engineering reports, technical analyses, and presentations. 

• Mentor junior engineers and support technical development across the team. 

• Resolve complex structural and mechanical system design issues while balancing performance, cost, and schedule requirements. 

• Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend innovations that improve product quality and effectiveness. 

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. 

• 10+ years of experience in a specific engineering discipline, or 15+ years of broad engineering experience across multiple disciplines. 

• Thorough understanding of aircraft structures and mechanical system design, including design loads, fatigue, and corrosion. 

• Strong knowledge of metallic and composite part design, manufacturing processes, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA). 

• Experience with 3D Model-Based Definition (3D MBD) and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T). 

• Proven ability to independently solve complex engineering problems and provide authoritative technical guidance. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Experience supporting aircraft design programs. 

• Proficiency with CATIA V5, including Part Design, Sheet Metal, Composite Part Design (CPD), FT&A, Kinematics, and Knowledge-Based Engineering (KBE) tools. 

• Experience with SmarTeam PLM. 

• Master's degree or higher in Engineering or a related field. 

• Previous experience mentoring engineers and leading technical projects.
