What You'll Do
As a Systems Design Engineer, you'll contribute to critical engineering initiatives that directly impact aircraft development and production. Working with limited supervision, you'll leverage your technical expertise to deliver innovative solutions and support cross-functional teams throughout the engineering lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Contribute to the planning, development, and coordination of significant engineering projects.
Perform design, analysis, and liaison engineering activities supporting aircraft development and production programs.
Provide specialized technical guidance and support to engineering team members.
Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges using advanced engineering methods and techniques.
Independently determine and execute approaches to meet project schedules, performance goals, and cost objectives.
Collaborate with internal teams and serve as a liaison with stakeholders outside of your assigned area.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Stay current with emerging technologies and industry advancements to recommend process and product improvements.
Ensure all engineering work meets company standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of:
Five (5) years of experience in a specific engineering discipline, or
Ten (10) years of broad engineering experience across multiple technical disciplines.
Proficiency with CATIA V5.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Education & Experience Credit
Advanced degrees in applicable engineering fields may be considered toward experience requirements:
Master's Degree: Up to 2 years of experience credit.
PhD: Up to 4 years of experience credit.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in an Engineering-related field.
Experience with aircraft systems, including:
Hydraulics
Waste and water systems
Landing gear systems
Experience with:
3D tubing routing
Hydraulic schematics
NX 3D design software
TeamCenter
Aerospace or aircraft development experience strongly preferred.
