Project Engineer

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM)
Duration: 6-Month Full-Time Consultant Role
Pay Rate Starting at : $65.45 /hour
In this high-impact role, you’ll support key defense and aerospace programs—including advanced fighter aircraft and weapons systems—by leading obsolescence management initiatives and ensuring the longevity, reliability, and performance of critical components.
Evaluate electrical and electronic components to identify replacements for obsolete parts
Conduct proactive obsolescence forecasting and monitoring using advanced tools and supplier insights
Develop mitigation strategies and business case analyses to address component lifecycle risks
Support and lead project management activities across Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders
Assist programs in identifying and resolving obsolescence risks for both legacy and next-generation systems
Prepare technical reports, customer deliverables, and contractual documentation
Manage changes to scope of work, including cost, schedule, and resource impacts
Lead proposal development, planning, and execution strategies
Track project progress, analyze performance metrics, and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Recommend alternate components aligned with aircraft and weapons system requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or related discipline
9+ years of relevant engineering experience (10+ years in obsolescence management strongly preferred)
Strong knowledge of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, diodes, ICs, connectors, etc.)
Proven ability to research and evaluate alternate components using datasheets and technical resources
Extensive experience in obsolescence management (DMSMS)
Strong communication, writing, and attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in a team-based, structured engineering environment
Demonstrated leadership in managing complex technical projects
This position requires use of information or access to facilities subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR). These regulations may limit access of controlled technologies: 1) to U.S. Persons, including U.S. Citizens, lawful permanent residents, and other narrow categories including refugees and asylees, or 2) to certain foreign nationals that have received an export license.
Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in a related field
Experience supporting defense or aerospace programs
Familiarity with legacy system sustainment and next-generation development
Proven success leading cross-functional engineering initiatives
