Pay: $28.00/hour

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading aviation organization to hire a skilled CMM Operator. In this critical quality role, you’ll ensure that precision-engineered components meet exact specifications before they ever take flight.



Your expertise in measurement, inspection, and analysis will play a direct role in maintaining the safety, reliability, and performance standards required in aerospace manufacturing.





What You’ll Do



As a CMM Operator, you will:




  • Set up, program, and operate Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment for:


    • First-article inspections
    • In-process inspections
    • Final inspections


  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, 3D models, and GD&T specifications
  • Create, modify, and troubleshoot CMM programs (e.g., Calypso)
  • Perform dimensional inspections using:

    • Micrometers
    • Calipers
    • Height gauges
    • Optical comparators and other precision tools


  • Document results and generate inspection reports, FAIRs, and quality records
  • Identify and report nonconformances, working closely with engineering and production teams
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Maintain calibration and accuracy of all inspection equipment
  • Assist in training team members on measurement techniques and print reading
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, safety procedures, and industry standards




What You Bring



Required Qualifications




  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ year of experience with CMM programming and operation
  • Strong understanding of:

    • GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
    • Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation


  • Experience with precision measurement tools and inspection techniques
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality


Preferred Qualifications




  • Background in aerospace, defense, automotive, or precision machining
  • Experience with:

    • FAIRs (First Article Inspection Reports)
    • PPAP processes
    • AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality standards


  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation systems
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Pay Details: $28.00 per hour
